About the Honda Africa Twin 1000DCT

The Honda Africa Twin 1000 DCT is a 1000cc adventure motorcycle that rents on a full A licence. Its dual-clutch DCT gearbox has no clutch lever or gear pedal: it shifts automatically, and you can select gears by hand if you want. You must be at least 25 to rent it.

It can be rented from both branches. With long-travel suspension and an 18.8-litre tank it is used for multi-day tours: from Antalya to Kaş, Fethiye and inland, and from Istanbul to the Black Sea coast and the Aegean. Roads like the Trabzon and Uzungöl route, marked as hard on our routes page, are what this class is for.

For models of 1000cc and above the daily distance limit is 250 km. One-way rental between the Istanbul and Antalya offices is possible; availability and the fee are confirmed before you book. The deposit follows the adventure class.

Honda Africa Twin 1000DCT: frequently asked questions

How do you use the DCT gearbox?

The DCT has no clutch lever and no gear pedal. The gearbox changes gear by itself, and the rider can select gears with buttons on the handlebar if preferred. Riders who have driven an automatic car get used to it quickly.

Can I take the Africa Twin on unpaved roads?

The Africa Twin is built for surfaces other than tarmac, but damage from off-road or racing use is not covered by the insurance. If you are planning an unpaved route, ask us on WhatsApp before you book.
