About the Yamaha XMAX 400

The Yamaha XMAX 400 is the most powerful scooter in the fleet and rents on an A2 licence. Its 395cc automatic engine reaches 165 km/h, and the 15-litre tank and wide seat are built for long roads.

It can be rented from our Istanbul and Antalya branches. It is used for journeys that are mostly motorway and coast road: from Antalya towards Alanya or Kaş, and from Istanbul to Şile and Ağva on the Black Sea coast. It is the model for A2 licence holders who want to cover distance without changing gears.

The daily distance limit is 150 km. The Antalya to Kaş route on our routes page is about 195 km one way, so split it over at least two days. At 218 kg it is more cumbersome than the 250cc models in narrow streets and stop-and-go traffic.

Yamaha XMAX 400: frequently asked questions

Can I ride the XMAX 400 with an A2 licence?

Yes. The XMAX 400's engine power is within the A2 limit, so a full A licence is not needed. The minimum rental age is 21.

XMAX 400 or XMAX 250?

The licence requirement and the daily distance limit are the same. The XMAX 400 accelerates more easily on motorways and with a passenger, and has a larger tank. The XMAX 250 is lighter (183 kg) and easier to handle in the city. Choose the 250 for mostly city use and the 400 for long roads.
